Halloween 2013

When asked to make a sketch for her jack-o-lantern, Jane drew a face with one eye. Richard skillfully adapted that drawing into this awesome one-eyed monster.

For Halloween, Ouisey got to wear Jane's old cow costume...

...so I decided to be her farmer.

Jane mentioned being Cinderella, along with several other random ideas, so we went with that because we already had the outfit in her dress-up box. Richard donned his tux and went as her prince.

Halloween night was stormy with threats of hail and tornadoes, so the city of Nashville sort of informally decided to postpone trick-or-treating until November 1. It worked out great because not only was the weather perfect, but also Richard was able to join, whereas he had class on actual Halloween night. So, we all strolled a few blocks over to a neighboring subdivision where we joined in their parade and had great success in the candy department. Jane was thrilled!

Fall, y'all

A few fun pictures/memories/milestones from this fall...

Ouisey has finally graduated from reclining in her carseat to sitting up in the shopping cart. It is much more fun and entertaining. Jane even insists that she likes having a buddy to sit with, even though Ouisey pulls her hair and tries to steal her snack.

We go to Target at least once a week. It is only five minutes from our house, so it is the perfect post-nap pre-dinner activity. Here we are in the Halloween isle, ha!

Shopping the clearance lot for a little fall landscaping

Saturday mornings at Waffle House...

"Waffle starts with W... and W starts with D!"

Richard invited his new classmates over for a bonfire. Jane loved the attention of all the older girls... and eating s'mores... and the fire was pretty cool, too!

Next up... the pumpkin we picked (out) at the pumpkin patch, and Halloween!
